Definitions
All submitted photos must align with the official theme of the 5th edition of the Great Photo Awards: “World of Nature.”
This theme celebrates the beauty, diversity, and fragility of the natural world, from grand landscapes and flowing waters to the hidden lives of birds, wildlife, and the intricate patterns found in nature’s tiniest details.
Eligible entries may depict:
Wildlife in its natural habitat
Birds in flight or stillness
The poetic power of rivers, lakes, and seas
The majesty of untouched landscapes
The microcosm of life through close-ups and macro photography
Whether through dramatic scenes or quiet, contemplative moments, each image should reveal nature’s poetry, mystery, and resilience, reminding us of its beauty and what we must strive to protect.
Photos may be submitted in color or black and white and must clearly reflect the essence of “World of Nature” through one of the following categories:
Wildlife | Birds | Water (Seas, Rivers, Lakes) | Landscapes | Macros
Right to participate
Participation is open to individuals from all countries, with no restriction based on location, gender, ethnicity, or other personal attributes. All participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of submission.
Categories
Participants may submit entries in any or all five categories: Wildlife, Birds, Water (Seas, Rivers, Lakes), Landscapes, Macros
During the Early Bird period, each participant may submit one (1) photo per category free of charge, for a total of up to five (5) free submissions in total, only once. This free option can be used a single time during the Early Bird period and cannot be repeated.
However, paid packages of up to 10 photos per category may be purchased at any time, including during the Early Bird period. Paid participants may submit multiple times, in any categories they choose, without restriction.
After the end of the Early Bird period, all submissions require payment, whether it is for a single photo or for a package of 10. There is no limit to how many times a participant may enter, even in the same category.

Judges – Jury
The judging committee is composed of internationally recognized photographers and photo editors. Their selection and appointment is at the sole discretion of the organizer.
The jury reserves the right to disqualify any photo deemed obscene, sexually explicit, offensive, or inappropriate. Disqualified photos are not eligible for refunds.
Participants waive the right to challenge, appeal, or contest the decisions of the judges. All decisions are final and non-negotiable, and no legal claims may be brought in any jurisdiction worldwide.
Submission of photos
All submitted photos (color or black & white) must be uploaded in medium resolution:
Minimum long side: 2000 pixels
Maximum long side: 2500 pixels
Maximum file size: 2MB
Format: JPEG
All entry fields must be completed accurately at the time of registration and upload, following the provided guidelines.
Analog/film submissions are also accepted but must be submitted in scanned digital format. The scanning and digitization of analog images is the responsibility of the entrant.
Shortlisted participants may be contacted later by the organizer to provide high-resolution files (and RAW files, if available) for final jury evaluation. Failure to provide such files within the given deadline may result in disqualification from awards.
Copyright
By entering the competition, participants confirm that they are the sole and original creators and copyright holders of the submitted photographs.
Only original images created by using a camera and lens are eligible. Images produced by AI (Artificial Intelligence), image generators, or heavily composited works will be disqualified.
If recognizable individuals appear in the image(s), the participant must have obtained permission from the person(s) depicted. Submission implies that such permission has been granted. If a complaint arises due to lack of consent, the participant is solely responsible for all legal consequences and compensation.
Participants also guarantee that submitted images do not infringe copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of third parties, including unauthorized use of other photographers’ content, even in part.
Usage rights
Copyright for all submitted images remains with the photographer.
However, participants grant the organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted images for promotional and editorial purposes related to the contest. This includes use on the contest website, social media, printed materials, press releases, and other promotional efforts.
Images will not be sold or transferred to third parties. Any use of submitted work will include proper credit to the photographer.
Photo Exhibition
Photographers whose work is shortlisted or receives a high jury ranking will be invited to participate in the official Photo Exhibition of the competition, which will be held at the 18th Photovision Art & Image+Tech Expo 2026 in Athens.
Participation is optional and subject to a small fee per printed photo, which covers printing and setup costs. This fee must be paid by January 16, 2026.
The organizers will contact eligible photographers between November and December 2025 to provide relevant details. Selected photographers will be required to submit high-resolution files suitable for exhibition printing.
In the event of any technical, legal, or copyright-related issue, the participation fee will be fully refunded. No further compensation or claims will be accepted beyond the refund of the specific exhibition fee.
Personal data
Participant registration data will be stored for the duration of the contest and its administrative procedures. The organizer respects all data protection laws and offers participants the right to access, correct, or delete their personal information. Participants may also request to be “forgotten” after the conclusion of contest-related activities.
Legal
The organizer reserves the right to alter, suspend, or cancel the competition or any part of it at any time and for any reason. In case of cancellation, applicable refunds will be processed.
Participants agree to indemnify the organizer from any claims, penalties, or liabilities resulting from a breach of the terms herein.
By entering the competition, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions and have a satisfactory command of English.
All legal matters will be governed by Greek law and fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.
