Exhibition & Awards Ceremony of the Great Photo Awards at Image+Tech Expo & Photovision 2026 March 13–15, 2026 Palaio Faliro Indoor Arena (Tae Kwon Do)

The highlight moment of the 5th International Great Photo Awards, themed “World of Nature”, is approaching. The winners of the competition will be presented in a special exhibition taking place within the framework of Image+Tech Expo & Photovision 2026, from March 13 to 15, 2026, at the Palaio Faliro Indoor Arena (Tae Kwon Do) in Athens Greece.

The exhibition will showcase the award-winning works along with selected photographs that stood out among thousands of entries from around the world, highlighting the power, diversity and sensitivity of contemporary nature photography. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the creators in person and discover images that capture the magic of the natural world across five thematic categories:

Wildlife | Birds | Water | Landscapes | Macros

The awards ceremony will take place during the exhibition on Friday, March 13, in the presence of distinguished guests. The works were evaluated by Pedro Jarque Krebs (Spain), Urs Renggli (Switzerland), Tassos Sakoulis (Greece), Jalpa Shah (India) and Michalis Kyrzidis (Greece), whose experience and expertise contributed to shaping the final results.

The Great Photo Awards, organized by the magazine ΦΩΤΟγράφος, have established themselves as one of the leading international photography institutions, attracting entries from dozens of countries and fostering creative expression around nature and the environment.

Image+Tech Expo & Photovision 2026 is the leading trade exhibition for photography, video, cinema and printing equipment in Greece, bringing together top imaging brands and thousands of professionals and image enthusiasts. Humanity World: A Celebration of Photography at Photovision Art 2025

The international photography competition Great Photo Awards proudly presented the winning and finalist works of its fourth edition, “Humanity World”, as part of Photovision Art 2025, held at the historic venue of the Kapnergostasio in Athens from May 23 to 25, 2025.

The exhibition, featuring 159 selected images from the competition, attracted wide public interest and was visited by thousands of photography enthusiasts during the three-day event. It formed a powerful visual narrative dedicated to humanity-its people, creations, cultures, and traditions-highlighting the emotional and storytelling power of photography.

We are proud to have shared the “Humanity World” images with such an enthusiastic audience, and we thank all the photographers who trusted us with their work. Below, you will find the complete list of winners and finalists, along with selected photos from the exhibition and award ceremony.

With more than 2,600 entries from 73 countries, “Humanity World” proved once again the global reach and artistic quality of the Great Photo Awards. The exhibited photographs captured diverse aspects of human life, from street moments and cultural rituals to architectural beauty and emotive portraits, all selected by an esteemed international jury.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the Award Ceremony, which took place on the opening day, Friday, May 23rd. In a packed hall, Greek winners of the Humanity World competition were honored and received gifts sponsored by Canon Greece, Fujifilm Hellas, Nikon (Damkalidis S.A.), Retouch4me, and Sony Greece. The ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Athanasios Bouras, Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament, who also presented awards to the Greek photographers.

The exhibition was part of Photovision Art 2025, a major photography event supported by the Hellenic Parliament and SEKAF, which hosted over 300 photographers from Greece and abroad. With more than 4,800 visitors, the event included live photo shoots, educational seminars, and presentations from top industry brands. It succeeded in creating a vibrant atmosphere of artistic exchange and technical innovation.

The grand celebration of photography returns with full force in May 2025! Photovision Art 2025, held under the auspices of the Hellenic Parliament and SEKAF, continues its mission to promote creative photography in Greece and internationally. As part of this major event, the “Humanity World” exhibition will be presented – a unique photographic showcase of the international competition organized by the Great Photo Awards.

From May 23 to 25, 2025, the Kapnergostasio will be transformed into a space of inspiration and creativity, hosting the award-winning works of the winners and finalists of the international photography competition. The “Humanity World” exhibition highlights human existence, creations, and traditions through unique images that tell stories from every corner of the globe. Visitors will discover the power of photography as a means of storytelling and expression while getting to know the work of talented creators who capture humanity through their lenses.

With four successful editions already, the Great Photo Awards have attracted hundreds of photographers from around the world. This year’s “Humanity World” competition received over 2,600 entries from 73 countries!

During the exhibition, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to admire the award-winning photographs selected by the judging panel, as well as many other remarkable images that stood out among thousands of submissions.

On Friday, May 23, the opening day of the exhibition, the prizes will be awarded to the Greek photographers who excelled in the Humanity World competition, with the generous sponsorship of Canon Greece, Fujifilm Hellas, Nikon (Damkalidis SA), Retouch4me, and Sony Greece.

Humanity World: Grand Prize & Extension of deadline!

Humanity World, the 4th edition of Great Photo Awards, is still underway for a few more days! PHOTOgraphos magazine, organizer of the contest, has announced the Grand Prize for this edition. The overall winner -with the highest score across the five individual categories- will receive:

A three-day stay for two persons at the Arethusa Hotel in central Athens from May 23 to 25, 2025.
Honorary participation in Photovision Art 2025. In addition to the winning photograph, the overall winner will have the opportunity to display five additional representative works, showcasing and communicating with a broad art loving audience.
Three AI-based plugins of their choice from Retouch4me Plugins Suite along with 500 in-cloud retouches using the Retouch4me Arams/Photoshop Panel, with a total value of €427.
€250 in cash.

Photovision Art 2025 will be hosted at the impressive space at Kapnergostassio from May 23 to 25, 2025, with the support of the Greek Parliament. The exhibition will feature, among others, selected photographic works from the international Humanity World contest, offering winners and distinguished with honorable mentions photographers, valuable exposure to avid photography enthusiasts.

Official Opening and celebrated Colorful World photo exhibition at Athens, Zappeion Megaron, Oct.11-13.2024

The 3^rd round of Great Photo Awards competition under the theme “Colorful World” was celebrated as a prime event with a glorious exhibition in the framework of Photovision ART, Oct. 11-13 at Zappeion Megaron, Athens Greece. Photovision ART was organized by Photographos magazine, the oldest prominent photo publication in Greece, being issued steadily since 1989. An multifold art exhibition, a forum, a meeting place and reference point for art photography, Photovision Art hosted the works of 386 contemporary photographers from 30 countries with 23 individual photo exhibitions as well as lectures and workshops, attacting 7350 visitors at the ample premises of Zappeion Megaron, the foremost central venue in the centre of Greece’s capital.

All visitors commented highly of the creative talents, the technical prowess and the underlying inspiration of the winners and runners up of Colorful World exhibition, which was one of the most important aspects of Photovision ART. The visitors were very much impressed and in their feedback suggested that this positive initiative should continue and expand.

Announcement of the Winners of the “Colorful World” International Photo Competition

The results of the International Colorful World Photo Competition have been officially released, including the Grand Winner, the winners of the five categories, and the runners-up. This competition, held for the third time as part of the Great Photo Awards initiative, received a total of 1.157 entries from 62 countries, showcasing a message of multiculturalism, diverse approaches, and styles, and proving that photography can unite people through expression, creativity, and the communication of ideas and emotions.

– The Grand Winner, and also the winner in the Street category, is Josef Hinderleitner (Austria) for his imaginative, provocative, and humorous capture of a street moment, showcasing the playful attitude of children. In addition to the cash prize, he wins a five-day stay at the Elite City Resort Hotel in Kalamata, Greece.

– The winner in the Landscape category is Aref Tahmasebi (Iran) for a spectacular drone view that conveys a message of concern and warning about the conservation of Earth’s ecosystem, threatened by human-induced pollution, overexploitation of resources, and industrial expansion.

– The winner in the Still Life category is Alexander Sviridov (Canada) for his meticulous rendering of the classic fruit assortment theme, inspired by the timeless works of Dutch masters.

– The winner in the Nature and Wildlife category is Urs Renggli (Switzerland) for his graphic and balanced juxtaposition of lifeless dunes with the sole living creature, a lonely antelope leaving behind its footprints, thus marking the scene.

– Finally, Svetlin Yosifov (Bulgaria) is acclaimed as the winner in the Creative category for his spontaneous portrait of a boy in Southern Sudan, leading his cattle to the camp and forming a dramatic frame of African countryside, highlighted by the colorful glory of the sunset.

The judging committee, comprised of photographers and journalists –Paul Burrows (Australia), Evi Christopoulou (Greece), Johan W. Elzenga (Netherlands), Panagiotis Kaldis (Greece), Takeshi Kameyama (Japan), and Loukas Vasilikos (Greece)- enthusiastically commended the creative approach of the participants and the exceptional standard of their images in all five categories.

A significant portion of the distinguished artworks was showcased during the recent Photovision Art event in October at Zappeion Megaron, Athens, Greece. During the event, an award ceremony took place, and prizes, provided by the competition’s sponsor companies Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, GoPro, and ZHIYUN, were presented to local winners.

1st Great Photography Awards photo exhibition

The 1st and 2nd rounds of the Great Photo Awards competitions, under the themes “Black & White World” and “Portrait World,” were celebrated as premier events with a spectacular exhibition during the 15th PHOTOVISION & IMAGE+TECH Expo, held on April 5-9, 2024, at the Exhibition Center of P. Faliro. The event was co-organized by Photographos magazine and Be-Best.

This multifaceted exhibition served as both a meeting point and a reference hub for photography, video, and printing in Southern Europe. It brought together the largest and most significant businesses in the industry, showcasing the latest developments and innovations in photography, video, printing, and the entire spectrum of visual and audiovisual media. The expo is expected to shape the future direction of the optical communication industry, fully reflecting market trends and advancements.

On the opening day of the exhibition, the local awards ceremony for the winners of the 2nd Portrait World competition was held in the main exhibition area. The local winners received honorary distinctions and their prizes, presented by the sponsoring companies.

More than 14,000 visitors attended the exhibition over its three-day duration, enjoying the photographic works of the competition and expressing their admiration for the photographers’ creations. The positive response from the public inspires us to move forward with enthusiasm in organizing future editions of the Great Photo Awards photography competitions.
